Philly and Boston

Hello everyone,

Well the mayhem with travel starts next week with trips to Philadelphia and Boston. I will be speaking for Cephalon Pharmaceuticals regarding their new drug to fight addiction on Tuesday then off to Boston for speaking and television interviews on Wednesday and Thursday.

Speaking of Boston, my number for the Boston Marathon is 22488 and I am honored and thankful for this opportunity. Special thanks to the BAA, my publisher Garth, co-writer John and my Boston connection Bob for helping me with everything regarding the marathon. Also thanks to Runner's World Magazine, the media and my publicist Sandi for all of their hard work as well.

I am truly humbled with the response the book Racing for Recovery From Addict to Ironman is receiving. This book provides a message of hope and I appreciate the support all of you are giving.

We have just been approved for a 7th weekly Racing for Recovery support group meeting on Fridays. I will have more information soon.

Also just booked a book signing in Illinois before a speaking gig I am doing for a youth drug court. Nice to see the word spreading across the United States.

Quick story here. I was working with Emmis Publishing 1.5 years ago regarding a book deal. I jumped through many hoops to make it happen and just when I thought they were going to finalize a deal they said no. I just got the word that they are going out of business which is sad but I am thankful that we did not reach a deal or this story might never have gotten out to the public. Things happen for a reason and Emmis saying no gave my current friend and publisher Garth from Breakaway books, a chance to say yes. Thanks Garth.

Hello everyone,

I want to apologize for not getting a diary in for sometime. I hate to utilize the "I have been so busy" excuse but I am going to take full advantage of that because I have been extremely busy lately. I am not complaining one bit though and actually I am thankful for all that is occurring lately.

First of all thank you to all of the media who have covered the book Racing for Recovery From Addict to Ironman lately. Through the radio, newspapers and Runner's World Magazine the response for the book has been unbelievable. The book is selling very well and I want to thank everyone who has ordered it and to those who have emailed or called me with their comments.

The whole purpose of this project just like with Racing for Recovery, is to share a message that can help others and thankfully that is being achieved. If you have not picked up a copy of the April issue of Runner's World, please do so as they did a remarkable job on the book.

I want to say thank you to my publicist Sandi Goldfarb who resides in Boston for doing such a tremendous job generating all of the coverage that has and will take place. Because of Sandi we are reaching out to many people who have yet to hear of this program. Also special thank you to my former hockey coach Jim Cooper for financially bringing this book to life.

Ok hate to cut this short but time to get on the bike as I do have some big events coming up next month that require me to be in good physical health.
