Boston Marathon

I just got confirmation that I will be running the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 17, 2006. Although I did not qualify for the race, I am honored that I can participate to share my story and Racing for Recovery to help others as that is the important thing. This is going to be a difficult race because I will also be doing Ironman Arizona 8 days prior.

I have also confirmed a book singing in Arizona at Borders books on April 7 from 4-6 pm. Information for the store is 699 South Mill Avenue Suite 119 Tempe, Arizona 85281 Phone is 480 921 8659.

All I can say at this point is I am one thankful person and "With Sobriety Anything is Possible"

Enjoy your day.

Photo Shoot

I want to thank David and Dan from Runner's World Magazine who did my photo shoot on Friday. The guys flew in from New York and had a very long day but were extremely professional and I enjoyed working with them. We had the chance to hang out and chat about all things "life" and became friends.

The new Saturday support group has been running well and I thank all of those who are attending and receiving support from our amazing program. I have seen some tremendous growth with people over the years and that is awesome to witness. Remember "With Sobriety Anything is Possible"

I have been working diligently on scheduling book signings and other promotional engagements lately. We have many "irons in the fire" and once they are confirmed I will post them here. If you have contacts in the media please let them know about the upcoming book Racing for Recovery From Addict to Ironman. This is not only discussing the horrors of addiction but more importantly, illustrates that recovery is possible and sharing that recovery to help others.

Ok have to get out for a run. Enjoy your week.

Runner's World Magazine

I was just notified yesterday that Runner's World Magazine will be doing a feature on the book Racing for Recovery From Addict to Ironman in their April issue. I will be doing a photoshoot for the article next Friday. Thanks to my author John Hanc for making this possible.

I have been receiving several pre-sale orders for the book from many states around the country. Thank you for much for your support and I will have your books out prior to the national release date on April 17.

Registrations are also coming in for the Half Ironman on June 11. We are still looking for sponsorship for this event and our signature 5k, 10k on October 22.

Our new Saturday support group have 25 people in attendance. We are now operating 6 weekly support group meetings for addicts and their families. This is not a 12 step or AA meeting but rather a cutting edge alternative to what is currently being offered.

Thanks to my friend and webmaster Aaron Haydu at Inside-In Design for his remarkable job on our new look to the website. Aaron donates his services to enable us to share our mission wit the world. If you are in need of website design, graphic design or photography services, please contact Aaron at www.inside-in.com and/or www.aaronhaydu.com.

Toledo Signing and Griffen Bikes

Just confirmed the book signing in Toledo, Ohio on April 22 from 2-4 PM at Borders Books in the Westfield Shopping Center. I am extremely happy, frateful and honored for this opportunity. This will cap off a week of signings in New York and other media event including the ESPN Cold Pizza show.

I just got word there is an article about the book in this months issue of Men's Fitness Magazine. Thanks to my author John Hanc for arranging this coverage and thanks to Men's Health for covering us.

Just received a call from Tony at Griffen Bikes and he is sending me one of his great bikes to ride for the 2006 season. He is putting a custome red, white and blue paint job on it as well. I have been riding Griffen bikes since 2000 and they are awesome. Thank you Tony for believing in Racing for Recovery.

Back in training full swing as there is a ton of promotion to do this year.

Enjoy your day.

New Year and ESPN

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you have all enjoyed your holiday season and I wish you all the best for 2006.

I received a phone call yesterday from Jay Crwaford who is the host of ESPN's Cold Pizza. He notified me I will be on the show in April to promote the book. I do not have the exact date confirmed but it looks like the 18, 19, or 20 as I will be in New York at that time already for book signings. I am very honored to have this opportunity to share Racing for Recovery with their audience. Special thanks to Kevin C for making this all happen.

Ask yourself this question. Do I know someone who has been impacted by alcohol and drug addiction? If the answer is yes, please support Racing for Recovery to the best of your ability. If it is simply informing somone who is struggling with an addiction of our website, please do so. If you own a company and are tired of employees missing work because of the "brown bottle flu", please sponsor Racing for Recovery. Any support either financially or word of mouth is greatly appreciated. To all of you who have worked so diligently to make our program the success it is today, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Enjoy your new year.
