Thanksgiving

Hello everyone,

Hope your Thanksgiving was enjoyable with your family and friends. I know I sure have a lot to be thankful for.

Couple things I want to share. Back in 2003 we showed ADDICT in New York and I met a lady who came to see the movie who was very inspired after viewing the film. Fast forward to present day where I just received an email from her regarding all of her triahtlon achievements. Now she did not have a drug problem but was motivated by the story to get on a exercise program and now look at her. She just completed the Marine Core Marathon. Racing for Recovery is changing lives and that I am thankful for.

The Racing for Recovery Mentoring Program is in full swing and I want to thank Kathy and Ryan for the excellent job they are doing out on Long Island. They both lead some presentations last week at schools and I actually received a call from a parent wanting to register their child for the Racing for Recovery triathlon on May 20 out on the island. I am so thankful for the work you both are doing and know it is making a difference in people. I will see you all this weekend as we are all getting together for business and pleasure.

Speaking of this weekend, I will be speaking at Rikers Island Prison on Friday Dec 1. I am really excited about this opportunity to share my story and hopefully change some lives. There is that word HOPE (which by the way I just got tattooed on my arm yesterday) and that is what I am trying to achieve with Racing for Recovery is to simply provide HOPE to addicts and their families that "With Sobriety Anything is Possible.

I will also be speaking on Monday to Clay High School. I was there 2 years ago and was once again asked to return and share the program with the kids or should I say young adults. I am honored to be coming back and look forward to seeing everyone at Clay on Monday.

Registration is open for the 3rd Annual Racing for Recovery Half and Sprint Triathlon. If you have not visited www.racingforrecoveryhalf.com please do so. Sponsorship is available and we greatly appreciate any donations as well.

To anyone out there who is struggling with an addiction, you can get better and have the life you always dreamed of. It is not always easy but it is always worth it to stay on the right track. Life does not have to be filled with pain in misery due to drug and alcohol usage, it can be full of joy if sobriety is being built. Help is available and if I or anyone at Racing for Recovery can help you or your family, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Enjoy your day.
