TATTOOS

Hello everyone,

I just want to make a brief statement and say that "I AM NOT CONDONING PEOPLE AND ESPECIALLY KIDS GETTING TATTOOS" The reason I am making this statement is, I just did an interview and the person conducting the interview said that he disliked tattoos and felt in some way I was condoning them. I am only condoning them for myself. They are a way of telling my story of addiction and recovery. I get asked by people everywhere I travel about them and that gives me a chance to talk about Racing for Recovery so to me my tattoos are a form of marketing and like all forms of marketing, I utilize them to the fullest.

Also like the stigma addiction has on society so does tattoos and by me trying to eliminate the stigma of addiction, I can possibly do that with tattoos as well.

It is funny to me how we as a society talk about racism and religion and how to accept everyone for what color they are and what they believe in but yet we totally discriminate and pass judgment on someone who has some "ink" on their arms.

Just some thoughts to ponder.
